SENSE 2020 Jubilee Conference
It’s the moment many of you have been waiting for: registration for the SENSE 2020 Jubilee Conference is NOW OPEN!
And because it’s a special occasion – SENSE’s pearl jubilee – we’re pulling out all the stops. What started out five years ago as a one-day event has grown into a long weekend brim-full with workshops, presentations, social events and sightseeing. There’ll also be plenty of time for networking, of course, and for meeting old friends and making new ones (we are more international than ever this year). And if that doesn’t convince you, the magic words ‘borrel’ and ‘gala dinner’ will probably have you rushing towards the registration page right now.
The conference will be held in the beautiful city of Maastricht from 5 to 7 June. This includes a full workshop programme on 5 June. Check out the conference programme at https://sense-online.nl/conferences/2020-conferenc...
As a member of one of SENSE’s sister societies, you will enjoy the advantage of discounted pricing for both the early-bird (until 1 March) and the standard fees. The standard fees will apply to anyone who is not a member of a sister society. Once you have registered for the conference, you’ll receive a discount code that will enable you to sign up for one or two of the Friday morning and afternoon workshops at special rates.
The conference – which has as its theme ‘20/20 (Re)Vision: Honing our skills to meet market challenges’ – will offer a programme to suit all discerning linguists: writers, copywriters, translators, editors and teachers. It will have a truly international flavour, too, with delegates and presenters expected from 14 countries - from Finland to the northeast to Canada to the northwest!
Home to our Conference2020 will be the stylish surroundings of the Amrâth Grand Hotel de l'Empereur, Maastricht, where you can stay overnight at favourable rates (book either directly with the hotel using the link on the registration page or via the likes of Trivago or Booking.com). There are, of course, plenty of other places to stay close by, including Airbnb accommodation. As this is a jubilee celebration, you are welcome to bring guests and partners, and invite them to the meals and drinks on the Saturday and/or the post-conference lunch on the Sunday – and perhaps even tempt them with the range of interesting events on the sightseeing programme (soon to be posted on the conference website).
If you have any questions about the conference, please do not hesitate to contact us via email@example.com.
We look forward to seeing you in Maastricht in June as – in the spirit of continuing professional development and lifelong learning – we hone our skills together!
